We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Parts Advisor to join our busy dealership.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the parts department operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting workshop and retail counter sales.
This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge of vehicle parts and a customer-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead point of contact for parts enquiries (retail, trade, and internal workshop).
Identify correct parts using manufacturer electronic catalogues.
Order, receive, and manage parts stock, including special orders and returns.
Monitor stock levels and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment.
Provide accurate quotations and process customer orders via the dealership's DMS (e.g., Kerridge/CDK, Autoview).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, offers, and technical bulletins.
Work closely with the workshop and service departments to ensure efficient parts availability for jobs.
Train and support junior parts staff when required.
Handle warranty parts returns and claims in accordance with manufacturer policies.
Ensure the parts department operates in compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a franchised dealership parts environment.
Strong knowledge of vehicle components and parts systems.
Proficient with dealer management systems and electronic parts catalogues.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full, clean driving licence (Category B).
Familiarity with Irish automotive aftermarket and manufacturer warranty processes is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications:
QQI Level 6 in Motor Industry or related field (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience with brands such as VW, Skoda, or Mercedes-Benz is an advantage.
Basic mechanical knowledge or technician background would be beneficial.
