Purpose of Position
Murphy International (MI) have a term contract to provide all the required support services to Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) across the country. As part of this contract, we provide the Electrical contract services for activities such as maintenance, installation, upgrades, remedial works, projects, commissioning etc. The position would include a company van, mobile phone, laptop etc. You would be predominantly based in the Leinster area, but on occasion may need to travel outside this area by agreement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform calibration of all site instrumentation Pressure, Temperature & Metering.
* Carry out electrical/instrument installation & remedial works, including cables, minimal secondary containment, equipment installs, + testing and completion.
* Carry out ATEX inspections.
* Update/redline documentation.
* Handover packs.
* Promote quality work and alleviate snags arising or return visits to correct defects.
* Effective documentation of verbal and written instructions of all extra works completed.
* Responsibility for working within the company quality procedures.
* Act as an integral link in the communication process between the us and the Client.
* Ensure all health, safety & environmental requirements are fulfilled in accordance with the responsibilities defined in the company safety & environmental statements.
* Actively promote safety.

Principal – Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Competent time served E&I craftsman with industrial experience.
* Demonstrable levels of technical knowledge with practical application.
* A high degree of computer literacy.
* CompEx certificate would be an advantage.
* Electrical verification & testing certificate would be an advantage.
