EPS Group have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join our Operations team as a vacancy has arisen for a part time Laboratory Process Technician. The position will be based in Ennis Drinking Water Treatment Plant. The role requires a flexible person who is self motivated, a self-starter who manages their time for the benefit of the activity they are involved in. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and a good command of the English language. The ability to communicate well both face to face and on the phone at all levels within the company and with clients and statutory bodies is essential. Key Responsibilities: Mechanical and/or electrical works Process monitoring and completing record sheets and taking process samples Laboratory work. Laboratory tests include BOD, COD, suspended solids, turbidity and other standard water and wastewater analysis techniques Role ranges from process control and monitoring to basic mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair Data analysis and generation of technical reports Compliance monitoring of contractual & water discharge license emission limit values as well as other environmental monitoring such as odour and noise Maintenance of analysis schedules including liaising with site operators and external laboratories Ordering equipment, chemicals and other consumables Heavy manual work may be required from time to time The role requires work outside on occasions in all weather conditions Flexibility with hours of work is vital for this role including weekend work and bank holiday work The role requires participation a regular stand by and call out rota Key Competencies and Skills: Laboratory testing background Experience in drinking water and wastewater processes Ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage time, meet strict deadlines and work to high standard, both on own initiative and as part of a team Advanced PC skills such as Excel and Word Excellent verbal and written communication skills Full clean driving licence Jar testing Qualifications: At least three years experience in a process industry (ideally with a background in drinking water and wastewater treatment) Experience of wet chemistry analytical techniques such tests for suspended solids, dry solids, Colour, Turbidity and using test kit apparatus such as Hach test kits Ability to work alone and in a small team Third level qualification in environmental science, chemistry or related subject Compensation Package: Competitive salary and benefits package, including a work vehicle and fuel card Opportunities for professional development and career growth CPD accredited employer A collaborative and supportive work environment Laptop or desktop and work mobile phone provided Flexible working options, dependent on location and role requirements See company website for more information on the benefits of working in EPS Group Wewelcomespeculativeapplicationsfromindividualsofalllevels.
