This role is open globally, with location based in Europe, including but not limited to Finland (Helsinki), Italy (Sesto San Giovanni), Germany (Mannheim), Ireland (Dublin), or Poland (Warsaw/Kraków). The work model is hybrid.
As a Global Account Manager you will join our Global Account Management team, responsible for serving the division’s key global corporate customers. This role places you at the heart of strategic collaboration with some of the largest industrial companies worldwide.
You will be coordinating colleagues from various regions and functions to serve your assigned global accounts. You will work closely with these customers’ leadership and technical teams and develop strong, long-term partnerships across their worldwide operations.
Success in this role requires the ability to navigate the complexity of large multinational organizations while understanding both the technical and commercial aspects of ABB’s offering.
Key Responsibilities
Building a trusted, long-term partnership with the account’s global organization, developing a deep understanding of both short- and long-term needs.
Serving as the primary point of contact for all matters related to ABB Motion Drives.
Leading the creation, communication, and execution of the Global Account Plan with the extended account team.
Driving sales activities and business development actions globally to achieve profitable growth.
Participating in Global Agreements, contract discussions, and the Risk Review process.
Maintaining a strategic understanding of the customer’s decision-making processes, applications, technology roadmaps, and competitive landscape.
Ensuring consistent, global support across all regions in collaboration with local ABB teams.
Preparing account summaries, forecasts, and reporting through SFDC (Salesforce).
Managing commercial negotiations in line with ABB procedures, collaborating closely with Operations, Legal, and Finance.
Qualifications
10–15 years of professional experience in Industrial Account Management, Technical Sales, Product Management, or a comparable commercial/technical role.
Degree in Engineering or a related field; MBA is appreciated but not required.
Technical understanding of drives, motors, PLCs, or industrial automation (hands‑on experience is an advantage).
Proven expertise in developing customer value propositions and leading complex customer engagement processes.
Strong negotiation and influencing abilities with a track record of closing high-value deals.
Understanding of OEM business models and go‑to‑market strategies.
Experience working with global industrial corporations.
Demonstrated collaborative approach and passion for people, customers, quality, and technology.
Fluent English; additional continental European languages (like German or Italian) will be considered a major plus.
Willingness to travel 50–80 days per year.
