Orange Recruitment are seeking a Building Services Engineer to join our clients Technical team in the Midlands. This role involves working closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver practical, technically sound solutions across a range of building services applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting customers, contributing to project development, and helping drive innovation in how technical services are delivered.This is a customer-facing position that combines engineering expertise with clear communication and collaborative working.Responsibilities:Provide technical guidance and support to clients, consultants, and contractors on building services systems, including HVAC, ventilation, energy performance, and compliance requirements.Assist with system design and performance assessments, ensuring solutions meet regulatory standards and project specifications.Carry out engineering calculations using approved software and in-house toolsHeating and cooling load calculationsVentilation and airflow assessmentsEnergy performance and efficiency evaluationsPipe and duct sizing calculationsReview drawings and technical submissions to ensure coordination with architectural and structural elements.Produce and update technical drawings and schematics using CAD and BIM software, developing both standard and project-specific details.Work collaboratively with design teams to support specification development and provide technical input during project planning stages.Deliver virtual and in-person technical meetings with project stakeholders to review proposals, resolve queries, and provide ongoing support.Maintain accurate records of project activity and opportunities within internal systems to ensure visibility across commercial and technical teams.Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide mentorship to junior colleagues where required.Requirements:Experience within building services engineering or a related discipline.A relevant qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or other BIM platforms (desirable).Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Excellent communication and organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
