Responsibilities
* As Person In Charge you will be responsible for the coaching, mentoring, and supervising of a staff team supporting people to live the life of their choosing.
* You will have strong leadership qualities to ensure the development of an SRV approach to service provision, including responsibility for the provision of training and development for each of the coordinators and a track record in leading innovation and change.
* Demonstrate leadership and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with people supported, staff, families and community leaders.
* Provide support and feedback to staff in a valued, respectful manner.
* Present concepts and information relevant to SRV-informed, autism-informed and other relevant approaches.
* Be creative and solution-focused.
Candidate Requirements
* Knowledge of HIQA requirements essential
* Proven experience of working with people on the autistic spectrum is desirable
* Resilience in working in the community
* Excellent communications skills
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Creative in problem solving
* Highly motivated
* Experience in facilitating and supporting people with high and/or complex needs
* Genuine understanding and interest in working alongside people to effect positive opportunities and change
* Ability to listen, advocate for and with the individual regarding needs, preferences, rights and dreams
* Excellent communication skills and clear understanding of teamwork with motivation to deliver high quality facilitation
* Strong belief in people\'s rights, inclusion and equality
Qualification Details
* A minimum level 7-degree qualification in Social Care, or equivalent (qualification must be eligible for CORU registration)
* Minimum of 3 years managerial or supervisory experience in the social care sector
* Management qualification
Other duties
* Contribute to and participate in the local service planning process and the development and changing needs of the service
* Provide personal care and support to service users where required
* Ensure a safe place of work in line with Western Care Association\'s Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirements
* Promote safety in all environments in line with the Association\'s practices
* Use positive approaches to support individuals who may have challenging behaviour in line with organisational practice
Other Requirements
* Full driver\'s license and access to a car
* All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting and Reference checks
* Applicants from countries outside the E.U. must provide work authorization to take up employment in the Republic of Ireland
* Overseas Police Clearance if lived outside Ireland or Northern Ireland for more than 6 months since age 18
Salary Scale
Social Care Leader Pay Scale (Scale Range €52,326 to €61,492 per annum). This is based on full-time working hours (39 per week).
