IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Operational Technology, Service Management and Infrastructure. The Applications teams are responsible for implementing, upgrading and supporting all Uisce Éireann applications (CC&B, Maximo, Click, Syclo, Middleware, Oracle Financials, GIS, HR specific, SharePoint and Service Now etc.) including those built on the Dynamics 365 platform such as CDS, EIMS and SIMS. The Applications teams also have a pivotal role to play in the implementation of new applications for the organisation, working with the IT Build and Delivery area.Reporting to the Middleware Lead, the Middleware Analyst will contribute to the Analysis, Development, Modification and Maintenance of Oracle SOA suite and Service Bus Middleware solution, infrastructure and processes within Irish Water.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesPossess a strong understanding of the Customer business end to end processes and requirements including interface requirements with other (non- Customer) systemsProvides technical expertise in the administration and support of the Oracle SOA middleware infrastructureConfiguration and implementation of SOA Suite middleware environment, problem diagnosis and resolution, capacity planning, monitoring and analysis of Web Services performance, and administration of the SOA middleware infrastructureDeveloping, documenting, and implementing procedures that support, maintain and enhance application server products and servicesOverseeing the application architecture of middleware tier infrastructureActing as a technical expert in problem resolution for middleware infrastructure hardware and software issuesResponsible for understanding high availability / fault tolerance from the applications perspectiveDeveloping and implementing procedures that support proactive problem detection and avoidance, including disaster recovery planning and implementationMaintaining appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements and qualificationsMaking technical and process improvement recommendationsDevelop, document, and implement procedures that supports, maintains and enhances application server products and servicesAct as a technical expert in problem resolution for SOA middleware infrastructure hardware and software issuesSupport SOA Developers in day to day workCreate documents on SOA development and Implementation strategyHelp establish Management, Monitoring and Administration procedures for SOA Suite infrastructure based on Oracle recommended practicesCollaborate with the IT Build & Delivery area, J2EE team, DBAs, technical leads, developers and business analysts for design activities as it relates to interfaces to Oracle SOA MiddlewareEnhance/maintain the reusable service repository, design patterns and reusable technical components (e.g. Web Services and SOA components, BPEL/ESB processes, data transformations, error handling, auditing, logging etc.)Provide out-of-hours cover as part of the Standby Rota as requiredOther duties as required from time to time.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ businessResponsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standardsSupport the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectivesConducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulationOther duties as required.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceRelevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirableA minimum of 3 years\' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experienceIn depth knowledge of Oracle SOA suite and Service Bus Middleware. Working experience with Oracle SOA suite 12C would be an advantageIn depth knowledge of Weblogic server governance and scriptingImplementation Knowledge on Microsoft / Amazon Cloud Integration would be an advantageIT Middleware experience (experience in an Oracle environment is an advantage)Relevant Application Certification (e.g. Oracle) would be an advantageITIL Certification and Project Management Certification would be an advantageProven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from othersExperience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutionsHave excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutionsAbility to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as neededProactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the jobAbility to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results .
