Job Description:
Interim Chief Operating Officer (Maternity Cover)
The Interim COO will lead day-to-day operations at Crohn's and Colitis Ireland (CCI), ensuring effective service delivery to those with inflammatory bowel disease.
* Contract: 6 months maternity cover, 37.5 hours/week
* Job location: Flexible, currently remote; based in Ireland. Office space available in Dublin. Travel required, expenses provided.
* Annual Leave: Prorated based on hours worked
* Pay: €40,000 (Negotiable based on experience)
The Interim COO will oversee the charity’s operations, implement policies, and work closely with the board to support the organization’s mission. The role involves strategic leadership, operational management, and stakeholder engagement to improve the lives of those affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Primary duties include:
Strategic Planning:
* Lead the 2025-2028 strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
Operations Management:
* Oversee daily operations, ensure smooth functioning, and implement policies for efficiency.
* Present operational reports at board meetings every 6 weeks or as requested.
Program Management:
* Lead projects, events, and campaigns like World IBD Day and advocacy initiatives.
* Monitor outcomes and impact, recommend improvements, and analyze data.
Financial Management and Governance:
* Manage budgets with the Treasurer and ensure fundraising activities are carried out.
People Management:
* Implement HR policies, promote a positive culture, and motivate staff and volunteers.
Stakeholder Relations:
* Maintain relationships with donors, partners, government, and the community.
* Represent CCI at meetings and events, advocating for its mission.

Person Specification
An ambitious, dynamic, self-motivated individual with strong relationship-building skills.
Required Knowledge / Experience:
* Third-level qualification or equivalent senior management experience.
* At least two years’ management experience in the NGO sector.
* Proven charity sector experience, project management skills, and results delivery.
* Strong IT, organizational, and relationship management skills.
* Full clean driving license.
* Understanding of not-for-profit sector standards and social media use for external communication.
* Leadership experience in the non-profit or voluntary sector, with a track record in fundraising.
