BMS Engineer 1632
SimoTech has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled BMS Engineer to join our team supporting our pharmaceutical client in Co. Dublin on a major site expansion project. This role offers the chance to work on state-of-the-art automation technologies in a world-class life sciences facility.
The BMS Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and lifecycle support of Building Management Systems (BMS) and related automation solutions for a large-scale expansion.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting for the BMS during project execution and handover.
* Develop and optimise control strategies for HVAC, cleanroom environments, and energy management systems.
* Support the design and implementation of BMS solutions for critical utilities and environmental systems supporting biologics manufacturing.
* Prepare and review design specifications, validation protocols, and technical documentation.
* Integrate BMS with PCS, SCADA, and IT systems to ensure seamless operation across the site.
* Participate in installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) activities for BMS and associated automation systems.
* Collaborate with process engineering, quality, validation, and IT teams to ensure robust and compliant automation solutions.
* Liaise with vendors and contractors for system design, integration, and support.
* Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, FDA, and client global standards, including data integrity and 21 CFR Part 11.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in automation engineering within the life sciences industry (pharmaceuticals or biotechnology).
* Proven expertise in Building Management Systems, ideally Siemens Desigo.
* Strong understanding of GMP/GxP regulations and their application to automation systems.
* Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and SCADA systems (e.g., iFix, Intouch) an advantage.
* Knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex automation issues.
* Ability to work on-site at least 3 days per week.
