Oliver Carty & Family is one of Ireland's largest pork, bacon suppliers. The company prides itself on offering top quality branded and own-branded products to Ireland's largest retailers. The company was established in the late 1950's and operates from two plants in Monksland, Athlone.
The company currently requires an experienced Quality Controller for our production floor. The successful candidate will be extremely efficient and organised, with strong people skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Work closely with quality & production personnel to implement and champion food safety & quality standards within a busy production setting
* Report to Quality Manager
* Carry out quality checks and product sampling to ensure finished product quality
* Carry out traceability checks
* Carry out personnel checks to ensure all staff are complying with hygiene rules
* GMP, Glass & Perspex, Hygiene & Housekeeping auditing
* Temperature, scales, probe, metal detector checks
* Investigation of customer complaints and non-conformance issues
* Record and regularly report product quality information and feed back to relevant teams
* This position is primarily based on the production floor
Experience
* Experience in a QC role in food production is desireable but full training will be provided
* BRC/ Bord Bia experience preferred.
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Organised team player with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
* Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and flexible to the needs of the business.
* Willingness to learn
* Fluent written & spoken English.
