Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") to join our leadership team and drive financial performance. The primary purpose of the role is to provide strategic financial direction, guidance, and management of the finance function of Lotus Care in a way that facilitates the achievement of the company's growth strategy.
The CFO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and the finance team to create best in class reporting, budgeting and long-term planning including developing financial models, managing budgets, preparation of monthly management accounts, dealing with all regulatory financial and taxation reporting. The CFO will also build strong relationships with the other members of the leadership team and will foster a business partnership approach with the finance team and other departments.
Strategy & Leadership
Lead the development and execution of the financial strategy aligned with Lotus Care goals.
Partner closely in assisting the CEO with shaping and executing strategic initiatives.
Develop and execute multi-year business plans that advances Lotus Care priorities and its intended impact.
Oversee the timely and accurate development of budgets, financial reports, and models that will assist the CEO, Board, and other Stakeholders in making informed strategy, resource allocation, and investment decisions.
Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, investment opportunities, and cost management.
Identification and review of new investment and development opportunities, leading financial due diligence on developments, acquisitions, and capital projects.
Financial Management
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting against targets, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
Oversee and review of monthly management accounts, variance analysis on the P&L and cashflow.
Present monthly financial management information packs and analysis to the executive team and the Board.
Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic needs together with managing working capital effectively.
Management and oversight of budget and forecast preparation and delivery and updating on a regular basis.
Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality care.
Management of bank funding processes, including presentations, due diligence coordination, covenant compliance, and reporting.
Development and monitoring of appropriate financial and non-financial KPIs for the performance of the company.
Manage the treasury function, working capital/cashflow, deposits and liaison with CEO regarding distributions and cash reserves.
Develop a clear understanding of SLA reporting models as requested by key stakeholders and funders of services procured i.e. HSE and TUSLA
Procurement & Acquisitions
Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing best practice procurement with a focus on value for money and future tender opportunities.
Ensure expenditure is controlled within budget and where appropriate identify possible savings.
Compliance & Reporting
Managing annual audits and completion of tax returns and liaise with auditors, Revenue, and regulatory bodies as required.
Review and manage internal systems, controls, processes, and procedures to ensure the integrity, accuracy, compliance, and usefulness of financial information and reporting.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, HIQA financial guidelines, and other healthcare sector requirements.
Team Management and Development
Lead and mentor the finance team to drive high performance and professional development.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with clinical, HR, operations, and facilities teams.
Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
Key Requirements:
Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 8 years in a senior role.
Experience in the healthcare, residential care, or related regulated sectors is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Irish financial regulations, healthcare funding models, and HIQA frameworks.
Experience in and knowledge of IT /digital technology
