The role
We are seeking an experienced Mine Manager to lead safe, efficient, and high-performance mining operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving best-in-class standards across safety, production, quality, maintenance, and environmental performance.As Mine Manager, you will guide a team of approximately 25 staff, shaping long-term mine planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing extraction methods, and championing continuous improvement through WCM principles. You will play a critical role in operational excellence, community engagement, cost control, and people development.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of mine safety, operations, engineering, and quality.Ensure compliance with statutory mining and quarrying regulations.Oversee blasting operations and the safe use of explosives.Drive continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing (WCM) standards.Develop long-term mine plans, including extraction sequencing and exploration.Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, local communities, and internal stakeholders.Manage mine budgets, cost performance, and capital projects.Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.About YouDegree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field (postgraduate qualification desirable).Minimum 10 years’ mining experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.Strong background in both underground and open-pit operations.Proven track record in mine management, cost control, and project delivery.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Data-driven, commercially aware, and committed to continuous improvement.If you are a motivated leader with a passion for safety, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams, we’d love to hear from you.For further information on this Mining Engineering role in Monaghan please contact Dee Curley on +353 867902191 / dee@hero.ie
