As the Maintenance Fitter, your duties will include:
1. Providing preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment.
2. Monitoring mechanical failures and identifying possible solutions.
3. Liaising with consultants and technical services where required.
4. Carrying out repairs on all jobs and discussing causes and possible improvements with the engineering team and operating supervisor.
5. Testing, inspecting, maintaining, and making mechanical repairs on specialized equipment such as hydraulic systems; familiar with gearboxes, etc.
6. Reading mechanical drawings and fault finding.
7. Responsible for the completion of all work assigned to you.
8. Maintaining the housekeeping of your area.
9. Ensuring all maintenance work complies with relevant regulations.
10. Ensuring that all machinery operates in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
Requirements:
* Qualified time-served Fitter with previous experience in mechanical fitting, welding, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment within a manufacturing or industrial process.
* Ability to fault find, provide solutions, and repair problems on automated plant and conveyor systems.
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic concepts.
* Good communication skills.
* Reliable and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to organize work and work productively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
