Battery Engineer Job Summary Inner city scooters is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Battery Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for the design, testing, and optimization of advanced battery systems for [EVs / consumer electronics / grid storage / drones / etc.]. This is a critical role supporting our mission to build efficient, safe, and scalable energy storage solutions.
--- Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and validate battery cells, modules, and/or packs (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state). Analyze battery performance, cycle life, thermal behavior, and failure modes. Conduct experiments and data analysis to support product development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software) to integrate battery systems into final products. Support root-cause analysis and propose design or process improvements. Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in battery chemistry and manufacturing.
--- Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's or Ph.D. a plus). 2+ years of experience in battery design, testing, or development. Strong understanding of electrochemistry, battery degradation mechanisms, and safety standards. Experience with battery test systems and data analysis tools Preferred: Experience with BMS (Battery Management Systems) and battery modeling. Knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments) and statistical analysis.
