As an Opcenter Solution Architect you will support the Siemens Opcenter MES rollout across our clients diverse manufacturing sites. The Siemens Opcenter Solution Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing MES customizations and integrations that enable reliable, scalable, and seamless shop‑floor functionality. This role bridges manufacturing operations, IT, and OT by translating business and operational requirements into robust technical solutions within the Siemens Opcenter ecosystem.
The Solution Architect focuses on solution design, system extensions, integrations, and technical governance, ensuring Opcenter aligns with manufacturing processes, enterprise systems, and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fit‑gap analysis to evaluate manufacturing requirements against Opcenter standard capabilities.
Design end‑to‑end MES solutions that support manufacturing operations, traceability, quality, and compliance.
Develop solution blueprints, system architectures, data models, and technical design documentation.
Ensure solutions align with ISA‑95 principles and enterprise architecture standards.
MES Customization & Extensions
Design and build Opcenter customizations including services, rules, events, extensions, and UI components.
Develop custom business logic, data structures, and user interactions to support shop‑floor needs.
Support and manage MES enhancement and customization extensions while maintaining system stability.
Contribute to a common MES code base to ensure reuse, consistency, and maintainability across sites.
Integrations & Data Exchange
Architect and implement integrations between Opcenter and ERP (e.g., SAP), PLM, SCADA, automation, historians, and other enterprise systems.
Design and develop interfaces using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, messaging frameworks, or Opcenter Integration Frameworks.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
Troubleshoot and resolve MES integration and customization issues to maintain production stability.
Support Opcenter upgrades, patches, and platform evolution initiatives.
Identify opportunities to optimize system performance, data flow, and user experience.
