PE Global are delighted to be working with our client who are a semi-state power generation entity, and we are currently on the lookout for an experienced
Production Manager
on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Edenderry and will report to the Thermal Plant Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Operations function of the Edenderry/Cushaling generation assets in accordance with owner and customer needs, ensuring environmental and health and safety compliance whilst maximising plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a renewable energy portfolio of generating assets to achieve and maximise plant availability and efficiency while contributing to company and government renewable targets.
* Lead the operations of the power plant, ensuring alignment with the Maintenance teams in accordance with customer instructions. Ensure that defined targets are achieved and that work is carried out safely, economically and within environmental and design limits of the Plant. When required, carry out the role of Windfarms Operational Controller. Responsibilities include operations planning and reporting, materials logistics and management.
* Ensure that material management, purchasing and contract management meet company standards and support all operations within the agreed budget. Liaise with compliance and trading functions to ensure the most financially beneficial position for the assets while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
* Play a key role in the implementation of the Renewable Energy Business Management System, including coordinating interfaces with customers, partners, regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies. Take responsibility for meeting challenging commercial, safety, environmental and quality targets.
* Actively contribute as a member of the operations management team. Develop and implement a long-term resource plan for the operations team to 2030 and beyond. Create a succession plan and ensure people development plans are implemented. Lead the engagement planning process for the operations function and oversee the development and execution of action plans.
* Fully cooperate with all provisions implemented by the company to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees and members of the public using the premises.
* Lead and performance manage direct reports. Actively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of personal objectives and those of the wider team.
The Person:
* BSc in Engineering or equivalent in a related technical discipline.
* 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Experience working with Steam Boiler and Steam Turbine plants.
* Excellent people management skills.
