As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated – Material Handler - to join our group.
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and safe movement, storage, and distribution of materials, parts, and products within the company premises. This role involves operating material handling equipment, ensuring accurate inventory, and contributing to a smooth and organized workflow.
What You’ll Do
* Receiving and inspecting shipments: Load, unload, and move materials, parts, and finished goods. Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing them to packing lists, invoices, or other compliance or QMS documentation.
* Escalating and managing discrepancies: Communicating issues consignment or documentation discrepancies to the appropriate stakeholder and working with logistics or counterparts in suppliers to resolve issues as required.
* Storing and organising materials: Organize and store materials in designated areas within the warehouse, production floor, or other storage facilities, ensuring proper labelling and accessibility and kanban fulfillment.
* Picking and packing orders: Prepare and package materials for shipment, including wrapping, strapping, and labelling according to company and carrier requirements.
* Maintaining inventory accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory records by participating in cycle counts and physical inventories.
* Operating material handling equipment: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions.
* Warehouse Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
* Collaborating with team members: Communicate effectively with other team members, supervisors, and other departments regarding material movement and availability, including coordinating with discipline leads.
* OPEX and Growth Programmes: Support the Supply chain and Operations org. as required on cross functional materials, inventory and logistics programmes to support a culture of continuous improvement.
* Support on Materials and Procurement: Support day-to-day operations as required on executing on MRP planning, including issuing requests to suppliers as needed.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Escalate any operational issues as required to Materials and Supply Chain Management, Quality, Accounts Payable, Operations or Facilities as support needed.
Who You Are
* Leaving Cert. level or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role, preferably in an advanced manufacturing/med-tech environment.
* Valid certification to operate forklifts and other relevant material handling equipment (or willingness to obtain certification).
* Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
* Ability to read and interpret packing lists, invoices, and other shipping documents.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Exercise good judgement with risk assessment training to critically access the appropriate tools and processes for physically moving inventory safely and appropriately.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills.
* Basic computer skills may be required for inventory systems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with specific warehouse management systems (WMS).
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience operating with QMS processed for the aerospace, med tech or semi-conductor or advanced manufacturing sectors.
