The Fern Dean Stepaside is expanding and has an exciting opportunity for a caring, energetic, compassionate, kind, creative, and reliable Activities Coordinator to join our team.
The Activities Coordinator will deliver activities that enrich residents' lives and help implement a regular schedule of activities to allow residents to enjoy creative expression, socialisation, and exercise.
The Activities Coordinator will work within our multidisciplinary care team to nurture a caring, homely environment for residents, enabling them to fulfill their social, cultural, recreational needs, and maximize their independence in accordance with their wishes, while always respecting each resident's privacy and dignity.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver activities programs under the supervision of the activities manager.
* Document activities attended.
* Assist residents with different events and group activities.
* Maintain the activities store, keeping it clean and tidy.
* Assist residents in the hairdressing salon.
* Provide assistance for the use of garden spaces.
Requirements
* FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or related field. Care Assistant background, with modules in Care of the Older Person, Dementia Care, and Palliative Care Support, are desirable or willingness to complete.
* Experience in designing and delivering activities for older people.
* Previous experience conducting activities in a residential care centre.
* Sonas training desirable or willingness to complete.
* Imagination Gym training desirable or willingness to complete.
