AECOM’s Streets Team is growing rapidly, delivering some of the most exciting and sustainable infrastructure projects in the country.
We’re looking for a Principal Engineer with a transportation background who’s ready to lead, inspire, and make an impact, to join our growing office in Dublin following continued growth across our national and regional transport portfolio.
You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering transformative transport projects involving Active Travel, Greenways, Bus Priority and Road projects which are redefining how people move across Ireland.
What You’ll Do
Manage design packages for major road, greenway, and urban transport schemes from concept to construction.
Oversee multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians, ensuring seamless collaboration across drainage, structures, and environmental disciplines.
Apply the latest standards including DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, and TII Publications to create safe, people-focused transport solutions.
Work directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, guiding them through technical challenges and statutory approval processes (Part 8 / ABP / SID / EIA).
Support and coach junior engineers, contributing to AECOM’s culture of growth and continuous learning.

Qualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage project delivery.
Working knowledge of Irish transport standards: TII Publications, DMURS, DMRB, and Cycle Design Manual.
Experience with statutory planning and design approvals in Ireland.
Experience with construction stage such as Site Supervision is ideal.
