Role Overview This position plays a central role in the financial management of a national transport initiative.
Working alongside senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and ongoing management of financial operations.

Core Responsibilities Support senior finance management with core operational functions including: Administration of grant payments to regional delivery partners across multiple locations Collation and analysis of financial returns from contracted service providers, including variance analysis Preparation and ongoing forecasting of programme-level budgets across multiple funding streams Mentoring and supporting junior team members and regional finance contacts Cost analysis and forecasting at both regional and programme-wide levels Supporting automation and process improvement initiatives Reviewing monthly financial reporting packs, including reconciliations and revenue tracking Liaising with regional partners to understand cost drivers and resolve discrepancies Preparing management reporting packs Project Involvement Leading and contributing to finance-related projects including systems development, reporting enhancements, and new operational initiatives Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects Supporting operational changes from a finance perspective Driving continuous improvement and process optimisation Documenting and implementing policies and procedures Additional Duties Ensuring accurate, timely reporting to stakeholders Maintaining robust internal controls Overseeing financial compliance and governance across regional partners Supporting audits and reviews Building collaborative stakeholder relationships Requirements Recognised accounting qualification with 5+ years PQE Project or people management experience Commercial acumen and business insight Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Advanced Excel skills; strong MS Office proficiency Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset Skills: Financial Accounting Audit Benefits: Work From Home
