Job Type Permanent Full-Time Location Dublin City, County Dublin, Ireland Job Details Vhi Group Services DAC currently have a full time permanent vacancy for an Enterprise Architect (based in either Dublin or Kilkenny) to provide vision, leadership, analysis and design expertise for the development, maintenance and governance of IT architecture models and their lower level components to support the needs of Vhi. The Enterprise Architect will develop the roadmap to evolve Vhi's Information and Communications Technology (ICT) environment from current to future states, in support of strategic and business goals and policies. The Enterprise Architect is expected to ensure that the overall ICT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. The primary role of the Enterprise Architect is to ensure that the respective business, application, data, solution and technology perspectives are in line with the organisation's technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning an organization's technology strategy with its business mission, strategy and processes. They create and maintain architectural models, ensuring they embody key principles that describe the organization's future state and enable its evolution. Enterprise Architects work across various domains, including business, data, applications and infrastructure technologies. Role purpose Advise and recommend enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies. Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the Groups long-term business objectives. Research overall ICT solutions to identify ICT architecture requirements specific to the business needs of Vhi. Define the target state ICT architecture for Vhi, including identification of dependency architecture shared across the Group. In conjunction with the wider Group Services IT Enterprise Architecture team, agree, prioritise, and govern shared ICT architecture requirements and roadmaps. Make recommendations for new or emerging technologies required to deliver on Vhi vision and ensures the best/most appropriate use of existing technologies. Leverage technical expertise across the enterprise to architect, deploy and oversee new technical solutions required for Vhi. Make technical architecture recommendations to the IT Strategy Group. Define technical architecture configuration and standards. Ensure defined standards are adhered to and that the appropriate governance is in place with recommendations to the Architecture Review Board and the IT Strategy Group. Review technical infrastructure and definition of upgrade/support paths. Direct and mentor the Architecture team ensuring that best practice is developed and adopted by the team. And assist in performance management (task reviews etc) for other architects in the team. Represent Vhi at the Architecture Technical Review group. Key criteria Education and experience Cloud Architecture certification (AWS preferable. Azure also good) AWS or Azure Training Software development using frameworks like .Net, Java and Flutter would be advantageous Experience of IT Architecture in a healthcare environment Experience of technology in an Insurance setting is advantageous Technical ability Architecting Cloud computing solution (AWS preferred) Architecture frameworks like TOGAF Software Design (bespoke development and/or SaaS like Network Design End to end System Design Knowledge of development frameworks like Java, .Net, Flutter essential SDLC methods and tools Experience of HL7 and FHIR standards for healthcare IT Architecture Ensuring seamless communication across various Electronic Health Records (HER), medical imaging, Patient management systems Designing scalable cloud-based solutions for Clinical Portal, data storage, analytics, AI driven Healthcare applications to drive patient outcomes Interpersonal skills Strong communication and presentation skills Demonstrated alignment to the Vhi values Vhi is an equal opportunities employer.
