OverviewRole: SAP Programme Manager / Delivery LeadLocation: Hybrid - Remote / LondonContract: Full TimeDay rate: 800-1000 per day inside IR35About the Role: We are seeking an experienced SAP Programme Manager / Delivery Lead to oversee and manage the end-to-end delivery of a complex SAP programme for a national supermarket and general merchandise retailer based in London. The ideal candidate will bring deep SAP knowledge and a proven ability to deliver large-scale ERP implementations or transformations. You will be responsible for working with both client third party and client teams to oversee strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, programme governance, risk management across business and technology to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Leadership: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of SAP programmes, including S/4HANA transformations, upgrades, rollouts, or integrations.
Delivery Oversight: Ensure high-quality, timely, and budget-aligned delivery of SAP initiatives, using industry best practices and delivery frameworks (e.g., Activate, Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders across business and IT, including C-suite executives, ensuring alignment of programme goals and business outcomes.
Governance & Reporting: Establish programme governance structures, chair steering committees, and provide clear and concise reporting on progress, risks, and benefits realization.
Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate and manage third-party implementation partners, system integrators, and vendors to ensure contractual and delivery performance.
Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional teams, including project managers, business analysts, functional and technical consultants, and change managers.
Change Management: Collaborate with change and training teams to drive user adoption and ensure business readiness for go-live and beyond.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks and issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in Consulting and Retail clients is a plus.
10+ years of SAP programme/project management experience.
Proven experience delivering complex SAP programmes in matrixed and multi-vendor environments.
Strong understanding of SAP technologies including ECC, S/4HANA, SAP Cloud solutions, and integrations with third-party systems.
Proficiency in project management methodologies; SAP Activate or equivalent delivery framework experience preferred.
