Overview
The Role will report to the General Manager Access and Integration/General Manager Complex Discharge Lead:
Taking responsibility for operational matters relating to scheduled and unscheduled care patient pathways
Maintaining effective communication with patients, relatives, treating Consultants, members of Healthcare Teams and with relevant external bodies including public representatives to ensure there is an effective flow of information in terms of awareness and understanding of related matters.
In collaboration with CH08 ensure effective and efficient utilisation of designated off-site beds
To assist the Senior Management Team in pursuing the Hospitals objectives, acting within policy, financial and other frameworks set by the HSE/Hospital Group.
Essential Criteria
Applications are invited from staff currently employed within The HSE and Tusla for the above position.
Candidates must have:
Experience in senior management in a Discharge Planning environment / Bed Management system, in a multidisciplinary team, within an acute Hospital setting, as relevant to the role
Candidates must possess sufficient administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the office and have management ability and experience.
A proven track record of Service Management, ideally in a healthcare driven industry is essential.
A relevant professional / 3rd level qualification
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and have a state of health such that would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Age
Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation Act, ****).
A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age.
