Job Title: Senior Finance and General Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to lead our day-to-day accounting and financial operational functions. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of general ledger / debit and credit accounting and be willing to take on responsibilities to grow their work experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage accounting, monthly reporting and daily and monthly reconciliations, treasury, AP (minimal) / SPV non lending payments and general ledger processes
* Manage & deliver monthly management accounts for 2+ entities on wd+1, including analysis and reconciliations
* Cashflow forecasting and liquidity management
* Manage monthly payroll for approximately 15 employees
* VAT and PAYE returns, other statutory company returns including CRO returns
* Manage local Portuguese outsourced accountant which includes local payroll (c. 5 employees) and related expenditure
* Own relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including banks and external auditors
* Assist FD in implementing scalable and automated financial processes
* Build strong internal control environment which protects the business from risk
Requirements
* A qualified accountant, up to c. 2 years pqe
* Detailed understanding of month end reporting requirements and financial statements
* Willing to learn new skills
* Solutions orientated with strong problem-solving skills
* Confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organisation skills
* Ability to work in fast paced international environment
* Strategic in your thinking, can see things through a commercial and operational lens as opposed to just finance
* High proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel
* Customer focused in terms of outcomes
