Over the last 10 years, turnover has grown from €20 million to €50 million and in recent years the headcount has grown from 70 to 130. Significant further growth is envisaged over the coming few years which makes this a fantastic time to join the team. The leadership group have an ambition to double turnover in the next number of years and are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Supply Chain & Logistics to join us in leading our end-to-end supply chain across a multi-temperature food distribution environment and fundamentally shaping the long-term supply chain strategy to support this continued business growth.
About the Role
This role will oversee the performance, safety, and efficiency of our inbound supply chain, warehouse picking team, replenishment team, and delivery operations. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing performance-enhancing initiatives, ensuring we consistently deliver a high service level to our customer base.
Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Leadership
* Oversee daily performance across the warehouse picking team, replenishment team, and delivery team.
* Lead and support the Warehouse Picking Manager, Replenishment/Cash & Carry Manager, Stock Controller, and Logistics Manager.
* Develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, accuracy, and overall service levels.
* Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of goods through the warehouse to delivery.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Own and maintain all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Road Safety standards across the operation.
* Conduct and oversee regular audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
* Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
People Management
* Oversee rostering, workforce planning, and holiday management to ensure adequate staffing and cost efficiency.
* Coach, mentor, and develop team leaders and frontline colleagues.
* Motivating and engaging the group as well as enhancing performance management structure.
* Recruitment for all supply chain roles, ensuring strong talent acquisition and on-boarding practices.
Strategic Development
* Shape the long-term supply chain strategy to support business growth.
* Introduce structure, process improvements, and KPIs that enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
* As a part of the senior leadership team, deliver successful business performance and our growth objectives.
Logistics & Service Delivery
* Ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery to customers.
* Maintain performance metrics and service targets across all logistics functions.
* Drive continuous operational improvement and adopt new technologies where appropriate.
* Manage opportunities to improve customer service and including regular customer contact.
Qualifications
* 10 + years leadership and people-management capabilities with experience overseeing multiple operational teams.
* Proven experience in multi-temperature food distribution is a distinct advantage.
* Deep knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety, Road Safety, and compliance frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to implement supply chain structure, improve processes, and develop high-performing teams.
* Strong analytical skills with experience using KPIs and performance metrics.
* Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
* Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to operational excellence.
