This role suits an engineer who is technically strong, delivery‑focused, and looking to develop toward a senior / project lead role within an energy consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Engineering Support

Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
Develop supporting drawings, schematics, and tender information as required.
Contribute to energy modelling, system performance analysis, and savings calculations where applicable.

Project Coordination

Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver projects to programme and quality requirements.
Support contractor engagement during installation, commissioning, and handover phases.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Interface with client engineering and operations teams with support from senior colleagues.
Assist in preparing technical reports and presenting findings in a clear, structured manner.
Understands the importance of client value, repeatability, and practical implementation, not just technical optimisation.

Demonstrates an understanding of project cost drivers, value engineering, and the commercial implications of design decisions.
Supports delivery of projects in line with agreed scopes, programmes, and budgets, escalating risks or scope changes appropriately.
Technical Documentation: Experience producing calculations, reports, and engineering deliverables suitable for client and contractor use.
Regulations & Standards: Familiarity with Irish and EU standards and guidelines (e.g. CIBSE, ASHRAE, PED, IS/EN standards).
Communication: Able to engage professionally with colleagues, clients, and contractors.

Experience & Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Typically 5+ years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role, ideally within:

Energy, industrial, or utilities environments
Engineering consultancy or technical project delivery roles

Experience in energy efficiency or decarbonisation projects is an advantage but not essential.
Chartered Engineer status or working toward chartership is desirable but not required.
