Job Title: Staff Nurse: Oncology Haematology Day Unit
As a Staff Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care in the St James's Hospital Dublin Day ward. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the care of patients receiving systematic anti-cancer treatments and haematology therapies.
* The post holder is responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating highly specialized nursing care using a holistic approach.
* You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
Skill Requirements:
* A minimum of 6 months' experience (postgraduate or undergraduate) in oncology, haematology or radiotherapy nursing within an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the past 2 years is required.
* The successful candidate must maintain annual registration with NMBI (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland).
* A working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems is essential as well as basic life support skills.
We are looking for candidates who possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively under pressure is also vital. Additionally teaching and assessing skills along with venepuncture/cannulation experience would be advantageous but not mandatory at this stage.
