That means we put our artists at the heart of everything we doWe are looking for a Lighting and Look Development TD to join our team here at our Dublin studio. The successful candidate will support Lighting, Look development and Groom teams with Unreal-centric technical solutions, focusing on shader setup, rendering, grooming workflows, optimization, and cross-department troubleshooting. This role ensures scalable, reliable real-time workflows that bridge artistic needs with technical systems.This is a Fixed-Term, 6-Month contract based in Dublin.Please note that our studio operates on a hybrid model, with two days per week required in the studio.The successful candidate must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary Unreal Engine technical support for Lighting, LookDev, and Groom.Build and maintain shader setups, grooming tools, and LRC utilities in Unreal.Support hair and fur grooming workflows, including shading, physics, rendering, and export/import tools.Troubleshoot issues with groom assets (guides, cards, strand-based hair), lookdev, lighting, and performance.Develop automation for groom import, shader assignment, LOD management, and viewport/render optimization.Manage and automate render settings, level sequences, LODs, and performance configurations.Create tools in Python, Blueprint, and MEL for both Unreal and Maya environments.Support the LRC review pipeline, ensuring renders, grooming outputs, and lighting data pass cleanly.Work with Pipeline/IT on versioning and publishing (materials, grooms, lights, render configs).Communicate with Epic Games, log issues, provide repro steps, and track resolutions.Maintain up-to-date documentation across shading, grooming, rendering, and LRC workflows.Stay current on Unreal Engine features, specifically updates involving grooms, hair shading, and real-time rendering.Key RequirementsKnowledge:Strong understanding of real-time lighting, shading, grooming, rendering, and compositing inputs.Knowledge of Maya Unreal workflows, especially for hair/fur import, shading, and performance.Experience:Unreal Engine production experience (animation, cinematics, or games)Supporting artists across LookDev, LRC, and/or Groom pipelines.Technical Skills:Expert Unreal Engine knowledge (materials, lighting, grooms/hair systems, sequencing, optimization).Strong Python; familiarity with Blueprint and MEL.Experience developing tools for Unreal and Maya.Understanding of shading models, texture streaming, LODs, and strand-based hair rendering.Familiarity with version control and publishing tools (ShotGrid, Perforce, etc.).Salary65, ,000.00
