Post ID: ****** Post Summary: The post holder provides day to day support in the Study Centre for all Research Collections material: supervising readers and responding to basic access enquiries via email and telephone.
The Library Assistant supports other colleagues in the provision of additional activities and services, undertakes retrieval and shelving of specific collections/items, assists with the sorting of material delivered from offsite storage, and assists with discrete collection move projects.
The Library Assistant – Research Collections - will, through training, become familiar with catalogues pertaining the collections of Early Printed Books and Special Collections, and Manuscripts and Archives, and how to handle such collections.
Post status: Permanent Contract, part time.
Hours of Post: Part-Time (0.4 FTE) Salary: This appointment will be made on the pro-rata Library Assistant Merged Salary Scale (€28,610 - €44,865 pro-rata, per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
