Group QHSE Manager – Construction Sector
About the Role
Our client, a well-established organisation in the
construction sector
, is seeking to appoint a
Group Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager
to take responsibility for all QHSE functions across multiple sites. This is a strategic and hands-on role, reporting to senior leadership, and will play a key part in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, and embedding robust QHSE management systems across the business.
Responsibilities
* Lead, implement and maintain QHSE policies and procedures across multiple sites.
* Drive a proactive and positive culture towards health, safety, environment, and quality.
* Conduct and oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO
* Monitor legislative developments and industry standards, advising senior management on changes and implementing necessary updates.
* Carry out and review risk assessments across sites and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
* Conduct regular site inspections, identifying gaps and implementing improvement plans.
* Prepare detailed QHSE reports for senior management review.
* Manage training and awareness programmes, including toolbox talks and staff inductions.
* Maintain records of QHSE audits, inspections, and statutory requirements.
* Provide expert advice and support to operational and management teams on all aspects of QHSE.
* Liaise with external bodies including HSA, EPA and industry associations, ensuring compliance and best practice standards are met.
Requirements
* Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Management (or equivalent).
* Proven experience managing QHSE functions across multiple sites, ideally in the construction or manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge of QHSE laws, guidance, and sector-specific regulations.
* Demonstrated experience of ISO management systems (9001, 14001,
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work both strategically and operationally, with strong problem-solving abilities.
