Clerkin Connect is recruiting on behalf of our client, Troy Panels, a rapidly growing manufacturer of custom-built electrical panels serving clients across Ireland and the UK. The company specialises in the design, manufacture, and automation of electrical control and switchgear systems for industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects.
As the business continues to expand, Troy Panels is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support its commercial and operational growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded professional to join a dynamic and innovative team.
The Role
The Electrical Estimator will play a key role in the preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for electrical control panels, distribution boards, and switchgear assemblies. Working closely with the sales, design and production teams, you will analyse drawings, specifications and material requirements to produce well‑structured cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for electrical panels and associated assemblies.
* Review drawings, schedules and client specifications to determine scope and requirements.
* Compile Bills of Materials (BOMs) using standard templates and internal databases.
* Request, review and compare supplier quotations for components and materials.
* Ensure estimates align with production capability, material availability and lead times.
Technical & Commercial Coordination
* Liaise with internal teams (design, production and sales) to validate pricing assumptions.
* Clarify technical details or scope queries with clients when required.
* Assist with tender submissions and pricing documentation.Maintain up‑to‑date cost databases, supplier pricing lists and estimating templates.
* Support the development of standardised estimating processes.
* Identify opportunities for value engineering or cost optimisation.
* Contribute to smooth handover from estimating to production planning.
Key Requirements
* Experience in estimating, procurement, technical administration, QS or a related commercial/technical role (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to understand technical drawings, schematics or willingness to learn.
* Strong numeracy, attention to detail and commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.
