We are partnering with a rapidly growing, tech-forward organization in the healthcare data sector to hire an
experienced Field Services Technician
to support their international headquarters in Galway, Ireland.
This is a
hybrid role (3 days onsite)
and serves as a technical lead within the IT Field Services team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support, mentor junior technicians, and ensure seamless operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as a lead for IT Field Services Technicians, providing daily support, guidance, and training.
* Coordinate installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of computers, peripherals, and network devices across various sites.
* Develop, document, and improve SOPs for IT infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
* Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to support broader strategic initiatives.
* Maintain and track IT asset inventory, ensuring accuracy in hardware and software documentation.
* Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
* Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maximize uptime.
* Support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
* Act as a primary point of contact for vendors and external service providers.
* Identify opportunities to optimize processes and enhance service delivery.
* Log incidents and problem tickets in ServiceNow and maintain clear communication on ticket status.
* Work with other technical teams to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
* Deliver exceptional customer service and follow ITIL best practices.
* Maintain organized server rooms and technical workspaces.
* Respond promptly to network, server, and application outages.
Requirements:
* High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
* 4+ years of relevant IT Field Services experience.
* Preferred certifications: ITIL (v3 or v4), CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
* Experience with PowerShell scripting and basic automation.
* Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITSM processes.
* Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, Windows/Mac OS, and common productivity applications.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively with a team.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
* Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure with attention to detail.
