Role Overview
As a Consultant within EY’s Dublin Financial Services Transfer Pricing team, you will provide comprehensive transfer pricing advice and support to leading financial institutions across banking, insurance, leasing and asset‑management sectors. You will work with EY’s international tax specialists to design, document and defend transfer pricing policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Advise and assist clients in designing, implementing and documenting their transfer pricing policies and strategies.
Prepare integrated transfer‑pricing documents, data files and models, and defend transfer‑pricing reviews and audits based on economic principles.
Model financial outcomes of cross‑border arrangements and develop practical planning approaches.
Negotiate Advance Pricing Arrangements with Irish Revenue and other tax authorities.
Support the project management of multiple engagements to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Collaborate in a diverse and inclusive team environment.
Assess clients’ financial transactions, including debt‑capacity analysis, interest‑rate benchmarking, financial guarantees, cash‑pooling arrangements, derivatives, insurance agreements and asset‑management services.
Conduct factual investigations such as functional interviews with key employees to understand organisations and their business models.
Advise on transfer‑pricing aspects related to restructurings within business units, including valuations.
Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory updates and best practices in financial‑transaction transfer pricing through knowledge meetings, workshops and learning opportunities.
Qualifications
Knowledge in business, economics, finance, company law and tax law.
Specific financial‑services sector knowledge is a plus.
Attention to detail and experience in processing complex information and managing multiple data sources.
High interest in solving complex issues and working independently on new topics.
Excellent communication skills enabling succinct and well‑informed recommendations to clients.
Inclusive behaviours and a desire to celebrate diversity within the team.
Analytical skills, strong affinity for numbers and precise working style.
Capability to analyse complex law provisions and contractual arrangements to understand their implications on clients’ business.
Strong commercial acumen and awareness of wider legal, economic, environmental and political factors influencing transfer pricing.
Good time‑management skills.
Previous transfer‑pricing experience is preferred but not strictly required.
