The Clinical Psychologist plays a key clinical role in delivering therapeutic services to children and families. This position involves conducting assessments, formulating and implementing intervention plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to service development and sectoral initiatives. The role also includes supporting staff development and participating in research and evaluation efforts to strengthen practice.
Responsibilities
1. Clinical Assessment and Intervention
Conduct triage using semi-structured interviews to assess client needs and refer appropriately to suitable services.
Provide sound recommendations to families and stakeholders based on clinical formulation.
Develop and implement data-driven, evidence-based therapeutic intervention plans.
Deliver individual counselling sessions regularly and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with social workers, schools, and families to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
Prepare for sessions using sound clinical formulation and planning.
Ensure documentation meets professional and agency standards for quality, clarity, and compliance.
2. Practice Development & Professional Collaboration
Support the implementation of therapeutic modalities across the Agency.
Participate in peer supervision and practice circles to build therapeutic competencies across the Agency.
Contribute to the development of therapeutic-related work processes and protocols.
Provide clinical consultation and skills coaching to selected staff.
3. Integrated Engagement, Research & Sector Contribution
Engage families in therapeutic processes, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning and service feedback.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, community organisations, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
Advocate for the needs and rights of children and families, contributing to agency and sectoral policy discussions and development.
Participate in research and evaluation projects to inform practice and improve service relevance.
Support agency-wide initiatives and contribute to sectoral learning and development.
Requirements
Master of Psychology (Clinical)
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working with children, youth, and families.
Strong skills in assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and multi-system collaboration.
Experience in documentation, service development, and peer support.
Registered practitioner of a professional body (e.g., Singapore Psychological Society)
