Job Title: Basic Grade Medical Scientist - Histology

A leading hospital laboratory in Dublin is seeking a Basic Grade Medical Scientist - Histology to join their dynamic and supportive team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering excellent opportunities for professional growth in a quality-focused and accredited environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform and assist in all aspects of routine histology laboratory processing and analysis.
2. Ensure testing is conducted in line with INAB and JCI Accreditation Standards.
3. Contribute to ongoing quality assurance and improvement activities.
4. Assist with the development and maintenance of laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
5. Provide support in the training and mentoring of staff as required.
6. Participate in data reporting and maintain accuracy using laboratory information systems.
Requirements:
7. Eligible for or current member of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) / CORU or an equivalent recognised body.
8. Minimum of 1 year of in-service training across all core laboratory disciplines.
9. Essential: Experience in Histology.
10. Highly Desirable: Experience in Cut Up procedures.
11. Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
12. Comfortable adapting to new technologies and service developments.
Desirable Attributes:
13. Familiarity with laboratory accreditation standards, including INAB and JCI.
14. Understanding of health and safety regulations in laboratory environments.
15. Competent in using laboratory IT systems and data management tools.
