Assistant Director of Nursing Oncology & Haematology Service
for our Hospital client in Dublin.
Full time / Permanent Contract
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and operational management for the Oncology and Haematology nursing services.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care in line with clinical and professional standards.
Support and supervise nursing staff, promoting professional development and continuous learning.
Coordinate daily clinical operations, staffing, and resource allocation within the department.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection prevention protocols, and quality standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support effective patient care and treatment planning.
Participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audit activities.
Monitor patient safety, risk management, and incident reporting processes.
Promote effective communication and positive working relationships across all levels of staff.
Support the implementation of organisational policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Requirements
Current registration on the General Division of the register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
At least 2 years' management experience at CNM III level or above.
Completion of a recognised management training programme.
Proven clinical expertise and professional competency.
Strong IT skills with proficiency in relevant software applications and healthcare systems.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to engage positively with patients and staff.
Ability to work independently, manage pressure effectively, and communicate with staff at all organisational levels.
Knowledge of accreditation processes, national quality initiatives, and clinical risk management procedures including incident reporting and documentation.
Degree-level qualification or higher within the specialty area, evidence of continuous professional development, and ability to support service improvement and future planning initiatives.
