Position Summary
Our EPCMV business is growing, and we are recruiting leaders for our Citywest Office. This challenging position involves working as part of a multi‑discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long‑range planning studies and full design services from programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of Civil Structural Engineers, Designers and Technicians, ensuring successful project delivery.
Lead and manage civil and structural design projects for semiconductor fabrication facilities, from conceptual design through construction and commissioning.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to evaluate potential greenfield sites and assess the feasibility of brownfield expansions, considering factors such as site geology, infrastructure and environmental impact.
Develop comprehensive civil and structural designs, including foundations, building structures, utility support systems and site layouts, in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and contractors, to integrate civil and structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
Ensure that all civil and structural designs meet local building codes, zoning regulations and environmental and safety regulations, and industry specific standards.
Incorporate sustainable and energy‑efficient design principles into civil structural plans to minimise environmental impact.
Identify potential risks related to civil and structural aspects of projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions and delays.
Provide technical support during construction, including responding to Requests for Information, reviewing submittals and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with design intent.
Conduct site assessments for greenfield and brownfield projects, evaluating existing structures and infrastructure for integration into new designs.
Work closely with project stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.
Leadership and team management skills, with excellent communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving and analytical capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Contribute to project planning, scheduling and budgeting related to civil and structural design deliverables and be responsible for change control.
Meet commitments to clients, individually and as a team, to complete work by committed timelines and within agreed man‑hours or cost budgets.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and work with all stakeholders to provide viable solutions to meet the project need.
Be responsible for the technical content and quality of all civil and structural design deliverables.
Skills & Experience Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Chartered engineer preferably MIEI / MICE / MIStructE.
Experience leading small to large scale project/engineering teams in the high‑tech manufacturing industry.
10+ years proven experience in civil and structural design engineering within the high‑tech manufacturing industry, with expertise in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
Must have proven civil and structural design experience on large‑scale projects.
Knowledge of high‑tech civil structural processes, equipment and cleanroom procedures.
Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental compliance and building codes relevant to high‑tech facilities.
Knowledge and application of Eurocode, BSI, IBC and Irish design standards and codes.
Experience in use of Industry Norm Structural Design Software (Tekla Design Suite, AutoCad Design Suite, etc.).
Knowledge of the application of CAD, Revit and Navis software for planning work and monitoring.
Team leader, expected to mentor and coach engineering team.
Provide technical support and assistance to engineers and technicians.
Project skills, including planning, budgeting and team leadership.
Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients and vendors at all levels.
Other
Ability to travel to client meetings, presentations, conferences nationally and internationally; working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
