The role
Job Title: Site Civils Foreman / Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Civils Foreman / Supervisor to oversee and coordinate civil engineering and groundworks activities on construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operatives, subcontractors, plant, and resources while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily civil engineering and groundworks activities on site.
Lead and manage site crews, subcontractors, and plant operators.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Monitor progress against project programmes and report on productivity and potential delays.
Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks with site personnel.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
Identify and resolve site issues proactively to maintain project schedules.
Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, site managers, and other project stakeholders.
Monitor material deliveries and ensure adequate resources are available for planned works.
Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, labour returns, plant usage, and progress reports.
Inspect completed works to ensure quality standards and client requirements are achieved.
Assist with planning short-term and long-term work activities.
Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all personnel follow company procedures and statutory regulations.

Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Civils Foreman, Site Supervisor, or similar role within civil engineering or construction.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Experience managing labour, subcontractors, and plant operations.
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Full driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
Relevant trade qualification or construction-related certification.
Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent.
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent.
First Aid certification.
Plant operation tickets/certifications.
Civil engineering or construction management qualification.
