Permanent Part time Day Activities Facilitator, 75 hours per fortnight, Nova Services
Location: Nova Services, Waterford
Join Brothers of Charity Services Ireland as a Day Activities Facilitator.
We are looking for bright, ambitious individuals who have a positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability and who are committed to ensuring that our persons supported lead as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible.
This position requires a high degree of professionalism and competence in conflict resolution as well as the ability to understand and empower people with sometimes quite divergent points of view.
Responsibilities
Work as a member of a team to develop schemes of work and learning programmes in line with national guidelines.
Plan, prepare and deliver these programmes to a range of classes, ensuring suitability for the individual needs and abilities of people supported by the services.
Encourage, monitor and record the progress of individuals and devise and adapt resources to suit learners.
Keep up to date with developments in subject areas, new resources and methods.
Maintain the welfare and wellbeing of the people supported by the services.
Demonstrate professionalism in conflict resolution and empower individuals with diverse points of view.
Qualifications and Skills
Positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability.
High degree of professionalism and competence in conflict resolution.
Ability to understand and empower people with sometimes divergent viewpoints.
