Job Description
Our Systems & Sensors Team develops illumination, optical-imaging, and classification technologies, integrating these with mechanical and software components to enhance TOMRA’s sorting platforms. We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary environment that values creativity and technical excellence.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Contribute to R&D of systems technologies.
* Design, test, and validate prototypes; perform performance benchmarking.
* Analyze data, build models, and share insights to improve solutions.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges promptly.
* Collaborate closely with R&D engineers across disciplines.
* Work cross-functionally to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Daily challenges span diverse fields such as optics, automation, spectroscopy, multivariate analysis, and machine learning. You will deliver real-time solutions and contribute to impactful long-term R&D projects.
Qualifications
About You:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related Science field.
* Experience in automation, vision systems, optics, or mechatronics.
* Proficiency in data analysis and programming (e.g., Python, C++).
* Analytical, methodical problem-solving skills.
* Hands-on, enthusiastic, eager to solve complex challenges.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Team-oriented, thriving in high-performance, multidisciplinary teams.
* Willing to travel domestically and internationally for prototype validation.
