Overview
Process Technician III – Evening shift, Athlone site. Medtronic Athlone and Bigmeadow, County Westmeath, Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Working with the Engineering and Operations teams in a hands-on role to support automated equipment sets with a focus on strong Yield and OEE.
* Troubleshooting equipment to ensure maximum uptime and output.
* Working with support teams to identify and implement process improvements that will positively impact Yield and OEE.
* Executing validation protocols, running trials and test work, feasibility studies, parameter development and operational qualifications, including challenge tests to establish and demonstrate stable processes and capability.
* Ensuring products manufactured meet design requirements and quality compliance.
* Participating in cross-functional project discussions, providing processing insight and recommendations.
* Collaborating with external companies and contractors to discuss and progress process improvements.
* Performing a variety of duties in the engineering, process, and development areas.
* Interpreting schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions; operating related equipment and reporting data in prescribed format.
Key Skills & Experience
* Minimum NRQ Level 6 degree or higher in Mechanical, Polymer, Biomedical or related Engineering/Science, or trade-qualified with hands-on experience.
* Knowledge of automation and/or primary processing (e.g., extrusion, blow molding, injection molding) is advantageous.
* Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems gained through experience and/or education.
* Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., MedTech/Pharma/Plastics/Automated processing).
* Experience with validations, development of processing parameters, trials, OQ and PQ orders.
* Experience writing SOPs, standard work, and reports.
* Familiar with problem-solving techniques and methodologies.
* Ability to train and mentor Technical Ops, sharing process knowledge and product requirements.
* Ability to adjust or recommend improvements to systems, tooling, and processes to improve effectiveness.
* Ability to work independently under general supervision and to contribute as a dynamic team member on cross-functional teams.
* Willingness to travel for equipment testing and training.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
* Flexibility to work outside normal shifts and weekends when required to align with machine availability and business needs.
* Reports to Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor or designee.
* Evening shift with the possibility of day shift.
