The role
Description
Amazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced Manufacturing Engineers to build the world’s premier cloud computing platform. This role will serve as a technical contact with full ownership of manufacturing launch and process issue resolution, driving production scale across a global network. You will own PFMEAs, Control Plans, and process flows from startup through product end of life.
Key Job Responsibilities
Scale up manufacturing on new products across a global network.
Lead and oversee quality control processes across Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and component vendors.
Deliver hands‑on technical support during new product introductions and launches.
Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis.
Support global operations through regular domestic and international travel (25–50% of time).
About the team
The team supports utility computing services such as S3, EC2, and emerging Cloud features, as well as generative AI-driven developer tools. It collaborates with software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver high standards of safety, security, and cost efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
6+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or high‑tech hardware.
5+ years of product development experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
Experience with project management of technical projects.
