Link Personnel are seeking an IT Security Engineer which offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work with a busy and approachable IT team, reporting into the IT Security Operations Manager in Irelands leading law firm.Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.The IT Security Engineer is responsible for protecting the firms IT environment and plays a key role in enhancing cyber resilience.The role focuses on proactively identifying, managing, and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities, ensuring IT services remain secure and robust against an evolving threat landscape.This is a fully in-office position.Salary: DOE Benefits: Pension, Healthcare, On-site Gym, Bonus, Life Assurance, Travel Saver Scheme.The Role Monitor and investigate security events across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments using SIEM platforms, EDR/AV solutions, Microsoft 365 security portals, and other security tools.Perform threat analysis, root cause investigations, and implement effective remediation actions.Proactively track CVE databases and threat intelligence sources to identify emerging vulnerabilities, leading the delivery of appropriate security controls such as patching, configuration updates, and architectural enhancements.Respond to and contain security incidents in line with ITIL-aligned incident management processes, escalating critical issues where required and contributing to thorough post-incident reviews.Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of security documentation and standard operating procedures.Manage and enhance Microsoft 365 security configurations across Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Defender for Identity / Entra ID security capabilities.Track all open vulnerabilities and their remediation status to closure.Maintain and improve security policies, standards, guidelines, and SOPs.Contribute to security awareness and improvement initiatives.Work closely with network teams to strengthen the security of firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and network segmentation controls.Experience BA degree in computer science, Information Technology or related.At least 4+ years in cybersecurity engineering or operations.Strong experience with Microsoft 365 security products and technologies.Experience with EDR/AV, identity security, and threat detection methodologies.Practical experience using of SIEM platforms.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to complex technical problems.Strong communication skills.The ability to work well under pressure.A flexible approach to work.
