Le Chéile Mentoring provides a one-to-one mentoring service for young people who offend or are at risk of offending. They also provide support to their parents or carers. The overall goal of mentoring is to build trust to enable the young person or parent/carer to develop their skills and relationships.
Becoming a volunteer mentor with Le Chéile gives an opportunity to empower young people and parents and help them identify and develop their potential through activities. This leads to improving their self-confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Le Chéile is currently looking for volunteers to support in the Clare area. The volunteer will be matched with a young person or parent for 1-2 hours a week. Mentoring sessions can include visits to the cinema, bowling, going for a walk, or going for a coffee.
This role is very flexible and can be carried out during the day, in the evening, or at the weekend.
All volunteers will need to complete the Le Chéile training and undergo screening.
