Senior / Principal / Associate Engineer Gas & Utilities
Join us at RPS as a Senior / Principal / Associate Engineer Gas & Utilities.
We are seeking an experienced engineer (mechanical, chemical, process, or similar) to work on gas and utilities projects, including supporting RPS’s GNI Framework projects. Our projects span design in gas transmission and distribution, renewable energy (wind, solar, biomass, waste-to-energy, hydrogen feasibility studies), and innovations in the UK gas sector, among others.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the gas, oil, or related process industries and will take a lead design role, contributing to training and development within our team. Experience in Ireland’s energy sector is advantageous but not essential.

Role Responsibilities
* Lead design projects, including reports and construction packs
* Survey existing gas infrastructure
* Coordinate with third parties
* Develop compliant and innovative design solutions
* Assess hazards per safety regulations
* Produce and review calculations, drawings, estimates
* Advise clients on gas/energy projects
* Promote sustainability and innovation
* Report progress and liaise with clients
* Support team development
Candidate Requirements
* 5-10 years of relevant experience in energy or gas sectors
* Experience in designing utilities infrastructure, preferably in Ireland
* Knowledge of ATEX regulations and IGEM/SR/25 standards (advantageous)
* Clean driving license
Qualifications
* Level 8 Engineering degree
* Chartered Engineer or equivalent (preferred, with ongoing pursuit encouraged)

Additional Information
Position: Full-time, Mid-Senior level, in Cork, Ireland. Salary range: €35,000 - €40,000.
