About the Role
As a Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for managing and developing the workshop, providing technical support to staff and customers. The goal is to ensure maximum utilization and quality of work while achieving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in controlling service and repair work in the workshop to maximize sales and profitability.
2. Control the workshop through efficient operation of the planner and loading work for each technician.
3. Maximise profitability by driving workshop hours and being responsible for workshop loading, utilisation, efficiency productivity and technicians' clocked time on each job.
Quality and Customer Satisfaction:
The quality of work delivered is paramount. You will be responsible for ensuring first-time resolution for every repair. This includes communicating with the Service Adviser or directly with the customer to clarify instructions where needed.
Team Leadership and Support:
You will oversee a team of Technicians and support the front-of-house Teams within the service department to deliver an outstanding Aftersales experience to customers. Highlighting problems with PDIs and referring to the Service Manager is also essential.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain thorough product knowledge and update it through manufacturer-led training. Ensure all working practices comply with company, health and safety, and manufacturer policy. Provide estimates for servicing and repairs and set timescales.
Requirements:
Demonstrable ability to meet and exceed targets. Strong technical knowledge and previous experience in a similar or technical role are essential. People management experience overseeing a large team is also required. Excellent communication skills and a friendly and professional manner are crucial.
