The Mespil Hotel has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Front Office Manager to join our dynamic Front Office team. This is a pivotal role requiring a highly motivated, proactive, and guest-focused individual. The successful candidate will support the Front Office Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk and overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Office Operations:
* Oversee the daily operations of the Front Office to ensure efficiency and excellence.
* Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction at all times.
* Prepare staff rosters and manage timesheets in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
* Ensure clear and effective communication within the Front Office and across other departments.
* Maintain consistent presentation and quality standards across the department.
People Management:
* Supervise, mentor, and lead the Front Office Team to deliver exceptional service.
* Coordinate and deliver ongoing training to enhance staff skills and service levels.
* Assist the Front Office Manager with team performance reviews and development plans.
* Collaborate with the Front Office Manager and HR Manager to address and resolve team concerns.
Customer Service:
* Deliver efficient, warm, and professional service to all guests.
* Uphold the Mespil Hotel's core service standards and brand values.
* Respond to guest queries and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
* Foster a positive atmosphere for both guests and colleagues.
Health & Safety:
* Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols in the hotel.
* Promptly report any hazards, incidents, accidents, or near misses.
* Promote safe working practices and ensure team compliance with safety standards.
Other Duties:
* Participate in relevant training programmes to support personal and professional development.
* Serve on internal hotel committees as required.
* Assist with duties across departments as needed.
* Contribute to the hotel's sustainability initiatives, including reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimising water usage.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a similar hotel environment.
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage guest complaints with professionalism and tact.
* Familiarity with health and safety legislation and hotel standards.
* Proficiency in Opera PMS is essential.
* High personal grooming and presentation standards.
