Job Title: Senior Communication Officer
This is a 2-year fixed-term contract role.
The Senior Communication Officer will support the implementation of the Communications Strategy and report to the Head of Communications.
Main Duties:
* Support the delivery of the Communications Strategy and public engagement strategies.
* Work with the Head of Communications to ensure all heritage information produced by The Heritage Council is easily understood and accessible to the public.
* Manage social media, website development, and contribute to existing and emerging work in cultural, natural and built heritage.
* Coordinate the development and management of the annual communications diary to outline planned events, press launches, press releases and other activities.
* Manage the website in collaboration with the Head of Communications and contractor.
* Develop and distribute digital communications for communication with national and sectoral stakeholders.
* Manage social media channels.
* Administer and manage all information, file management and data management as it relates to all communications functions.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years relevant experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrable experience of engagement with external groups and stakeholders to support communication project delivery.

In return, the successful candidate will receive a 2-year fixed-term contract, salary in line with Civil Service Grade of Executive Officer point 1, starting at €37,919, 23 days annual leave, and located in Kilkenny.
