Role Overview
* Operate plant, machinery and mobile plant on site to aid safe and compliant movement of waste materials.
* Perform day‑to‑day housekeeping of a waste transfer station and refuse‑derived fuel supply processing facility.
* Maintain health, safety, and wellbeing for self and colleagues; ensure 100% compliance with PPE, Lock‑out/Tag‑out procedures, and safety for all site visitors.
* Report all near misses and incidents immediately to the shift supervisor.
* Keep all designated walkways and operational areas free from obstacles and debris; comply with Environment Agency permits and all applicable legislation and company processes.
* Support the onsite team during periods of preventative maintenance of all plant, mobile plant, and equipment.
* Ensure outstanding housekeeping and hygiene standards across the facility, including welfare facilities.
* Carry out safety and defect checks before using any machinery, equipment, mobile plant or attachments.
* Unload and load vehicles requiring mobile plant/FLT and carry out related activities around the site.
* Assist team with segregation and sorting of materials to maximise recovery value for the business.
* Identify any non‑conforming material being tipped on site and report immediately to the shift supervisor.
