Job Opportunity: Senior Rehabilitation Therapist
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Rehabilitation Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for adult rehabilitation, frailty, and community-based care to take on a leadership role in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services.
The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to develop and implement individualised care plans that enhance independence, functional ability, and quality of life for clients. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Physiotherapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, and GPs to provide coordinated service delivery and support client participation in community activities.
About the Role
* Provide leadership and guidance to junior therapists, promoting best practice and continuous professional development.
* Develop and implement occupational therapy services in community and home-based settings, ensuring high-quality care and effective outcomes.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and interventions for adults with complex needs, utilising standardised tools and clinical reasoning to inform care planning.
* Liaise with external services, voluntary organisations, and hospital teams to ensure continuity of care and coordinated service delivery.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, reports, and care plans in line with HSE and CORU standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, families, and carers to promote safe and effective daily living at home.
2. Conduct home visits to assess clients' living environments, recommend adaptations, and provide interventions to maximise independence.
3. Deliver rehabilitation programmes aimed at falls prevention, frailty management, and functional recovery following illness or injury.
4. Provide education and training to clients, families, and carers to support safe and effective daily living at home.
Requirements
* Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
* Minimum 3 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist in adult rehabilitation, with a focus on frailty and community-based care.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
* Excellent communication and written skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and care plans.
